Shocking Footage Reveals Moment Officers Suffer Blade Attacks in Ambush
One ranking policeman who rushed to the aid of a partner that got attacked by a knife attacker was granted the Royal Recognition for Valor.
Sgt Tim Ansell struggled against 27-year-old Jacob Brown following he pressed a blade to the neck of his partner Sergeant Marc Foster.
Brown began the violence as the policemen and their colleague, PC Marcus Wolstencroft, were conversing to a motorist after a road collision in the area in mid-2023.
Brown attacked with blade the two Sergeant Ansell and Sergeant Foster before Police Constable Wolstencroft stopped him with a electric weapon.
"Officer attacked," the officer was heard to say over his radio.
Bodyworn and vehicle camera video made public by the force revealed Brown, that was clothed in black with a hood covering head, approach to Sgt Foster from behind with a knife extended.

Sergeant Ansell was heard stating: "Can I get something on my neck here, I'm bleeding in the neck."
Sergeant Ansell sustained multiple open wounds to his throat and additional cuts to his limbs and body, whereas Sergeant Foster received cut injuries.
Officials reported Sergeant Foster employed his hands to stem his partner's hemorrhaging prior to paramedics came.
The latest honor arrives subsequent to the law enforcement team won internal Courage Honors in fall 2023 and the police federation award from the regional Police Federation in early 2024.
They were also awarded a North West Courage Honor in mid-2024.
"The responses of the entire team eventually rescued one another and meant no members of the public suffered any injuries."
Brown was sentenced to an secure medical confinement in early 2024, according to officials.
